What is Shishu Hatlabh Yojana Uttar Pradesh Child Welfare Scheme ?
This scheme is to ensure the safety and provide nutritious food for the health of women workers employed in building and other construction works within the state by the Uttar Pradesh government from pregnancy to child birth. With the help of this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance to provide nutritious food and ensure the safety of children from birth to the age of 2 years.
Under this scheme, if the newborn baby is a boy, he will be given assistance of ₹10,000 and if the newborn baby is a girl, he will be given assistance of ₹12,000 and if for any reason the newborn baby is disabled from birth, then the government will provide him assistance of ₹50,000.
To avail the benefits of this scheme and to register under this scheme, it is mandatory for the workers to have a Labor Card and the benefit of this scheme will be given only to two children of the family.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the application form has to be submitted to the Labour Department of the area or Tehsil Development Block Office within 1 year of the birth of the child and after 2 years, the certificate of survival of the child has to be seen to prove that the newborn is alive.

This scheme has been started by the Uttar Pradesh government for the welfare of the workers living in the state. Maximum workers or laborers of the state are still below the poverty line and they fail to protect the health of their newborn baby and pregnant woman.
