The Subhadra Yojana was started on 17 September 2024 with the motive of giving direct financial benefits to women aged between 21 years to 60 years. The scheme has been named after Devi Subhadra. It carries a budget of ₹55,825 crore. More than 1 crore women are to be benefited from this scheme in the state of Odisha. This scheme is available to eligible women coming from economically weaker sections. An annual amount of ₹50,000 payable in two installments, is provided to eligible women under this scheme. The women receive the financial help for five years and are able to be economically active.

Objectives of the SUBHADRA YOJANA

a. To provide a financial safety net for women and their families, thereby improving their socio-economic status.
b. To support income for the eligible women so that they can become an active and useful citizen.
c. Improved health, nutrition, and education outcomes for women and their households.
d. Financial Inclusion through women’s financial independence to contribute to economic empowerment.
e. Enable women to establish new digital transactions, even accesses to a new digital economy.

Benefits Under Subhadra

  • To give a feeling of identity and empowerment, every eligible beneficiary will receive a SUBHADRA Card, which would be like an ATM and debit card.
  • All eligible beneficiary holders will get an amount of Rs. 50,000 in five annual installments between 2024-25 and 2028-29. It will be provided at Rs. 10,000 every year as long as they remain eligible for the next year also.
  • An amount of Rs. 10,000 will be split into two equal parts of Rs. 5,000 each. The first installment would be on Rakhi Purnima, and the amount of the second installment would be paid on International Women’s Day on March 8.
  • Money will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s account by using the Aadhaar Payments Bridge System.
  • Rewards Program: In addition, the rewards program will be started by the government to incentivize digital payments. Under the rewards program, the government will identify and reward 100 women residing in each village or city who make the most digital transactions.

Eligibility Criteria For applying

a. The applicant should be a resident of Odisha.

b. The beneficiary should be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). Any woman belonging to a family that does not have an NFSA or SFSS Card can apply under the SUBHADRA scheme if the family income does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh (which is Two Lakhs and Fifty Thousand Rupees).

c. The applicant shall have completed 21 years and be less than 60 years of age on the qualifying date to be eligible to benefit under the scheme. The applicant’s age will be determined from the date of birth of the applicant as appearing in the Aadhaar card.

d. For the applicant must be aged between 21 years and under 60 years as of 01.07.2024. Hence, the applicant must be born between 02.07.1964 and on or before 01.07.2003. The date of birth from the Aadhaar card will be used for verification of her age.

e. If she is attaining 21 years of age after 01.07.2025 for the financial year 2025-26, then she would get an allowance of Rs. 10,000 per annum for the remaining period of the scheme. The women who attain the age of 60 years after 01.07.2025 will not be eligible for the allowance for the remaining period of the scheme.

Required Documents for applying


To get and receive benefits under Subhadra, only eligible applicants must satisfy these conditions:

  1. Women must have an Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number under her name.
  2. They must associate the mobile number with the Aadhaar card also.
  3. They should have an Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled single-holder bank account.

If the applicant does not have an Aadhaar number, or if there is an error on their Aadhaar card, they should get it enrolled or corrected, as the case may be.
If the applicant does not possess a single-holder bank account that is both Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled, they will be provided with an opportunity to:

  • Open a single-holder bank account.
  • Get the bank account Aadhaar-enabled.
  • Get the bank account DBT-enabled.
  • Complete an e-KYC process.

All beneficiaries will start getting the full benefit of ₹10,000 under the Subhadra scheme from the very launch date itself, irrespective of the date on which approval for the application is made in 2024-25.

Procedure To Apply for the Subhadra Yojana Online

The Subhadra Yojana online application has started. If you want to apply from home using your laptop or computer, you can learn the step-by-step online process by following the below instructions completely.

  • Open any browser, then type subhadrayojana.gov.in in Google and search. Click on Official Login, then click on CSC Login.
  • Click on Login, then log in using your CSC ID and password. After that, click on New Application, enter the Aadhaar number completely, and click Submit.
  • Tick the box, then click Proceed to Verify eKYC. If your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar, you can verify eKYC using OTP.
  • If the mobile number is not linked, you can verify using fingerprint or iris scan. The person I’m applying for has their mobile number linked to their Aadhaar.
  • I’ve selected OTP and clicked Start eKYC. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar. Type that OTP and click Verify. If the applicant is married, you can select Husband; if unmarried, select Father. The person I’m applying for is married, so I selected Husband and typed their husband’s name. If you select Father, type the father’s name. Then, select the category. The person I’m applying for is OBC, so I selected OBC.
  • If the applicant is disabled, select Yes; if not, select No. If the mobile number is linked to the Aadhaar, type that number. If not, you don’t need to enter any number.
  • Then, enter an alternate mobile number. You can type any mobile number. If this number is linked to Aadhaar, you can tick the box; if not, don’t tick it. Then, scroll down.
  • If the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar is on a smartphone, select Yes; if not, select No. If the alternate mobile number is on a smartphone, select Yes; if not, select No. Then, select the district. If you’re in a rural area, select Rural; if in an urban area, select Urban. If you select Rural, select the block and panchayat, then select the village.
  • The bank account linked to the Aadhaar will be shown; this is where Subhadra Yojana funds will be deposited.
  • Click Choose File, scan the two-page Subhadra Yojana form you filled out, convert it to a PDF, select the PDF, and click Upload. Scroll down, tick the green box, scroll again, tick another box, type the village name, and click Submit.
  • A location permission prompt will appear; click Allow. Check all details, and if everything is correct, click Proceed. Now, see, it has been successfully submitted.
  • Click View Acknowledgement, scroll, click Print, and take a printout to give to the customer. Write the application number on the Subhadra Yojana form and keep it. Later, the Anganwadi worker will collect this form.
  • If you couldn’t take a printout for any reason, click Home, then click View Submitted Applications. You’ll see a list of all Subhadra applications you’ve submitted.

How To Check Status of the Subhadra Yojana

You can check the status of your Subhadra Yojana application online to see if you will receive the funds or not. T

  • o check the status, visit the official Subhadra Yojana website, subhadrayojana.gov.in. First, click on Official Login, then click on Helpline Login.
  • After clicking on Helpline Login, you need to log in using your CSC ID or registered email ID. If you’re from a Matsya Seva Kendra, use the registered email ID of the Matsya Seva Kendra.
  • Enter the password. use the same password you used to apply for Subhadra Yojana to log in. Then, click on Login.
  • If you’re unable to log in and it shows Invalid Email, you cannot check the status. To check the status, visit the Subhadra Yojana official website or homepage. If you have a CSC ID, click on CSC Login.
  • If you’re from a Matsya Seva Kendra, click on MSK Login. Since I have a CSC ID, I’ll click on CSC Login. Enter your CSC ID or username, then the password, and click Login.
  • Once logged in, open a new page in your browser and type the URL in the URL box: subhadrayojana.helpline.application.status. Type the full URL. I’ve provided the URL link in the video description. Click on it to directly access the page.
  • After clicking, you’ll see the option to check the status. If you can log in without any issues, use your CSC ID to access this page via the link.
  • You’ll find the Find Applicant Status option. Enter the application number of the application you submitted, select it to check the status, and click Search.
  • After clicking Search, you’ll see the applicant’s details: full name, enrollment number or application number, date of birth, last four digits of the Aadhaar number, and application date. Below that, you’ll see the status. First, it shows the eKYC status. If it shows Completed, the eKYC is done, and it will show whether it was verified via OTP. Then, check the Approval Status.
  • Since my form has been approved, it shows Approved. For Payment Status, it will show if the payment has been successfully disbursed to the State Bank of India.
  • If it shows Successful, the funds have been sent to the bank, and you’ll receive the money. If someone’s approval status shows Field Verification Pending, the application is pending. After field verification, it will either be approved or rejected based on the government’s eligibility criteria.
  • If your form is deemed ineligible for any reason, it may show Field Verification Pending. After field verification, the form will either be approved or rejected, and you’ll know the outcome. If your status is pending, wait, as field verification will happen soon. If you’re eligible, your form will be approved. This is how you can check the Subhadra Yojana status.
