Application Process and Camps

Where can you go to apply? They are organizing camps across Tamil Nadu called “UngaLudan Stalin” (With You, Stalin). You can go to these camps and apply. When are these camps being held? Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme

Age and Gender
  • To apply, you must be at least 21 years old. If you have a ration card in your family, only women can apply.
  • Those women who haven’t received the Magalir Urimai Thogai so far and have a ration card in their family, and are 21 years or older, can apply. Men cannot apply; only women can apply.
Previous Beneficiaries
  • No one in your family should already be receiving the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai through your ration card.
  • If someone in your family has already received it, you cannot apply again using the same ration card. They are saying you can apply afresh now.
  • If you’ve already received it, you definitely cannot apply. If someone in your family has already received it using the same ration card, another person cannot apply using that card.
Income Limit

Next, your family’s annual income should be within ₹2 lakh. So, if your total family income is within ₹2 lakh annually, only then can you apply. If it exceeds that, you cannot apply.

Land Ownership
  • Regarding land, if your family collectively owns less than 5 acres of wetland or less than 10 acres of dryland, you can apply.
  • This includes the entire family, not just one person. If your family collectively owns more than 5 acres of wetland or 10 acres of dryland, you cannot apply for this scheme.
Electricity Usage

Families using less than 3600 units of electricity annually for household purposes can apply. If you use more than 3600 units per year, you cannot apply for this scheme.

Exclusions Based on Other Benefits/ Who Cannot Apply

People receiving pensions such as disability pension, maintenance allowance, old-age pension, Chief Minister’s Farmer Security Scheme, unorganized workers’ welfare board pension, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension, pension for destitute widows, pension for women abandoned by their husbands, or pension for unmarried poor women above 50 years cannot apply.

However, other eligible women in their family can apply. Previously, they said if someone in the family was receiving a pension, no one could apply for this scheme. But now, they’ve clarified that, except for the person receiving the pension, other eligible women in the family can apply using the same ration card. The pension recipient cannot apply, but another eligible family member can.

Other Exclusions
  • Family members who file income tax, pay professional tax, or have an annual turnover of over ₹50 lakh and pay GST cannot apply.
  • If you file income tax or pay professional tax you cannot apply. Similarly if you have an annual turnover of over ₹50 lakh and pay GST, you cannot apply.
  • Next elected representatives in your family except ward members of village panchayats cannot apply
  • .If you own a four-wheeler for personal use you cannot apply. However if the government has provided a four-wheeler through a subsidy you can apply. But if you’ve bought a four-wheeler on your own you cannot apply.
  • Government employees public sector employees, bank employees, employees of boards, local bodies, cooperative organizations, and their pensioners cannot apply.
  • However, those who worked on special time-scale pay and are now receiving a pension can apply.

Required Documents

What documents do you need to bring? You must carry your ration card. Next, the Aadhaar card of the woman applying. A bank passbook is required. They may also ask for an electricity bill receipt. These four documents are sufficient. Additionally, ensure your Aadhaar card is linked to your bank account, as this is also necessary. Check this as well. Where do you go to apply? They are organizing camps across Tamil Nadu in 10,000 locations. Not all 10,000 camps will happen tomorrow. Specific camps will be held tomorrow, some the day after, and so on, continuing for the next three months. You don’t need to go and apply tomorrow itself. Apply when the camp is held in your area.

Click on that option, and you’ll see the camp locations starting from 15/7/2025. They’ve announced the places where camps will be held tomorrow across Tamil Nadu. Similarly, they’ll update the locations for the 16th the previous day, and so on. Check daily to find out when the camp is happening in your area and apply there.

Where are the camps happening tomorrow? In Ariyalur three camps are being held at the municipality office Sri Amman Thirumana Mandapam and Mariamman Temple Ground. In Chengalpattu six camps are happening tomorrow. In Chennai seven Coimbatore, six Cuddalore, one, Dharmapuri, six; Dindigul, six; Erode, six; Kallakurichi, one; Kanchipuram Karur all districts will have camps. A total of 196 camps are being organized tomorrow and they’ll continue for three months. Go to the camp in your area with these documents and apply for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme.
